Can you exchange a bank draft?

I bought a bank draft three months ago for $200 australian dollars to be sent to an agency to organise a visa, anyway to cut a long story short I had sent them too much, and they have now returned that exact draft. Is there any way I can exchange it in the bank, even though it is a draft that is still made out to the company I got it made out to.
Thanks

Short answer yes, with a but.......

1. Have you got the receipt?
2. Is the draft endorsed to you (I presume it isn't)? But perhaps you have a letter from the payee to say that the draft is not required?

According to a colleague invloved in branch banking, you should be able to get your money refunded if you can prove that you bought the draft in the first place. Also, you probably won't be charged, but won't be entitled to a refund for any charges originally paid (which is fair enough I suppose...). You may also lose/gain on the exchange rate difference.

Thanks for the advice I got it changed.
Thanks again.
