I am a married, stay at home mum but now the children are at school in the mornings I have taken up a couple of part time "jobs" that I enjopy and they keep me busy. I also earn a bit of cash doing them.
I will teach lessons at a private music school and I have had to sign a contract saying I wasn't an employee. I will get around €150-€200 a month for this.
I will also taken up doing so gardening jobs for old people that can't manage the garden thereselves. I estimate i will get around €3,000 a year for doing this.
So all in all I will be getting around €5000 a year. Is there a thresh hold where income tax is 0%? Do I fall under this threshold? Do I need to declare this €5000 and if so how do i do this? Does it affect my husbands tax credits?
I know loads of people taking cash for simular things as me and they say i don't need to do anything, BUT i would prefer to know that i am not doing anything wrong.
Any help would be appreciated. I live in Republic of Ireland BTW, so this is to do with Irish tax
