Can u fit a thing called a "pipe stat" I think onto your central heating boiler loop

I have heard that you can fit a thing called a pipe stat i think onto your central heating boiler loop (???) and once that gets to 2 DegC, it will fire the boiler until the boiler gets to 10 DegC.

Is that correct - does such a thing exist?

Anhyone know anything about it, where u can get it, what it cost, can a plumber fit it etc?

What your looking for the is a 'frost stat' pipe stats would usually be used for things like pump overrun

As DGOBS correctly says, fit a frost stat, normally set to +4C, but also fit a pipe stat to flow pipe from boiler set to 30C. This will turn off the boiler when water temp reaches 30C. If your system is zoned, i.e. motorized zone valves, then also fit an automatic bypass valve between the positive side of the circulating pump and the return, set to approx 400mbar. The frost stat will require its own permanent live to power as the burner live will only be live when the timeclock allows it.
