can someone on OAP work?

Hi, (posting for someone else)

A lady is 65 & in employment (shes a carer). Shes become quite ill with her nerves & is hoping to go part time.

Is she eligible for the pension or what SW is she entitled to? Shes hoping to work part time.

Any info at all would be appreciated

It might be an idea for her to seek a professional opinion from her doctor regarding her ability to work part-time/full time. As they say 'doctor knows best'.

Is this person claiming her Transition Pension 'one year' benefit before OAP?
Does she have enough RSI contributions for this benefit? If receiving this benefit she is not entitled to work also.

From the time she receives the OAP now called 'State Pension' she can work without loss of pension.

thanks for the replies, will have to find out a bit more info from her & will post accordingly...

I do know shes in full time employment presently.. shes 65 and is looking ot retire / possibly work part time... god love her shes very unwell at present. She badly needs to cut her hours & seek some medical help too
