Can I work 4 hours per day?

Hi,

I am considering applying for a minimum wage job that is 4 hours per day 5 days per week. I think I know the answer, but would I be entitled to any benefit if I took such a position? I am a single male, still waiting to get my UB (8 weeks now).

noname. You would not be entitled to claiming benefits for working these hours 20 hours 5/7 days. You can only claim JB if you are working 3 days.

that's what I thought, thanks for the swift reply Lilly, just another example of being better off on the dole I suppose.

Another question...

If I was offered this job, but turned it down if they would not agree to me working the 20 hours over 2 or 3 days, could my dole be stopped on the basis of refusing to work?
