Can I reduce my 2017 tax bill by investing in a PRSA now?

I probably should've looked into all this when I started out as a self-employed service provider in January 2017 but I'm only really doing it now as I begin to do my tax returns. I just read online about the income tax relief for pension plans. According to the documentation, I'm allowed claim up to 15% of my net relevant earnings as tax relief if I contributed that amount to a PRSA.

My important question is whether I still have time to claim this relief by paying 15% of last years income into a PRSA even though we are now in 2018? Or has my time to pay that amount and thus claim tax relief already passed? If anyone knows the answer it'd be much appreciated.

You’re fine if you do it before 31 October of this year (or mid-November if you pay and file online which pretty much everyone does).

Thanks so much for your quick reply. That's actually a really handy form of tax relief. Thank God I found out about it with enough time to claim it.
