Hi,
I am hoping that someone can tell me if I can claim tax back for year 2006.
I am a single parent with 2 children, no maintanance (I dont know if its taxable if you do get it?)
Anyway, in 2006 I earned 10,764 through a CE scheme. I paid 792.48 in tax.
I also recieved One Parent Family Allowance of approx 5,550.
So my question is am i entitled to claim back the 792.48, or part of it even?
Thanks.

I was just taling to clubman there in another thread about my own tax situation. I got the impression that I wouldn't have to pay any tax if its within my tax credit limit which is 17,600K according to a tax calulator he linked me to [broken link removed] .

So if you earned less than this??? Plus I would imagine the revenue would be more lenient towards a person in your situation. Im just a young single male by the way. (not trying to chat you up!!!)

Are you sure that it was tax and not PRSI? What exactly does it say on your P60? I am not sure whether or not OPFP is assessable for income tax. You should write to Revenue and ask them to prepare a P21 balancing statement for 2006. If they are not aware of any details of your situation then you should clarify these with them. If necessary do a Form 12 return to make sure that they have all of your details.
