No, this product is not available in Ireland at the moment.
It used to be available - Bank of Ireland gave out Life Loans to people over 70. And other institutions did what was know as home loan reversion schemes. These are not available any more, although they could come back.
The best way to solve this is for a relative to do one of the above schemes.
A relative could buy 20% of the property. Today it would be worth €50k, but given that they won't get their money until the uncle dies, they should pay only about €20k to own 20%.
Alternatively, a relative could lend him the money and issue an actual mortgage.
Or a relative could buy the house and rent it back to him.
