Can a witness to a Will be a work colleague of a beneficiary?

As I thought my Mum changed her Will 3 weeks before her death.

I will be seeing a solicitor asap but can a witness to a Will be a work collegue of a beneficary in a Will, especially when that new Will has been changed to the beneficary's advantage? In short my brother's wife's work collegue witnessed my Mum's Will.
