I'm not sure how to word this .....Is it ok for a solicitor to send out letters without being asked to ?
I'll explain in brief. Family has land to sell for a development in the early stages. So far they have received three letters from a local solicitors firm that look official. The letters make it look like the solicitors are representing them without any discussions or instruction to do so.
Have they been instructed - and if yes, perhaps they are just being proactive.
If no, then they have no authority to issue any letters at all and whoever will be doing the instructing should ask them not to do anything - at all.
