Calculate split of tax refund due to married couple

I've never really bothered to figure this out myself.

If a 2-income married couple, jointly assessed, complete a tax return and they are due a refund, how is that refund apportioned?

I think it's to do with the ratio of tax already paid or something like that.

Ya based on the tax paid.
