Does anyone have any opinions on the CAIAs, or maybe even just heard of them? Are they worth studying for with the intention of getting a job in the Alternative Investment industry?
I only found out about them from the Schweser website when looking at notes for the CFAs. I'd be very interested but don't fancy paying out around 700 for something that nobody has heard of or recognises. Is there any better alternatives, preferably self-study?
Has anyone ever taken these exams / received the qualification?
If so,
What were your experiences?
Did you find it worthwhile?
What materials did you use?
Did you undergo any third party training programs?

Hi CMcD,
Didn't see your post. Bit of a coincidence.
Anyway I've just started looking into this myself. I believe it is a well respected qualification. Probably more so in London (or the US) than in Dublin. However I believe it will help you get a job in the area regardless of your location.
I'm hoping to get some feedback from people who have taken the course. I'd like to understand if you need to read all the books or if some of the study materials from third party vendors will suffice.
