Buying from Eastern Europe

Hi,
Do any of you know whether it is cheaper to buy new computers from Eastern Europe?

Having done some skeleton research, I can see that some laptops from places in Poland amount to about 800 EUR, which I guess is more or less the same over here.

What are other people's experiences/tips?

Margins on parts are so small and efficiencies of scale from the likes of Dell are so high that I can't see it being worth sourcing parts in this way. In fact the risks of getting bogey parts might outweigh any potential savings.
