Building a Shed

Hi

I want to build a garden/work shed to hold lawn mower, tools bikes etc. I hope to insulate it as I have a lot of good quality tools and a good bike that I don't want getting rusty.

We had a builder take a look and he said that he can build it with cavity blocks, dry line the inside and render the outside it will be fine.

I'm just a little concerned as we live in an exposed area and the walls of the shed would be exposed to driving rain at times.

Also if I built say a 12ft x 10ft shed what sort of price should I expect to put a slate roof on top.

A deluxe, dry-lined, rendered garden/workshed/garage?

This is being built to the same standard as a house extension.

Expect to pay similar prices, and remember to install good doors and windows.

Otherwise there will be absolutely no point in insulating the walls - the wind will blow through.

Put in some power points as well to allow for a portable heater and a decent south facing double-glazed window.

Letting sunlight in on a dark finished concrete floor slab actinh as a heat sink might go some way to preventing moisture build up.
