Building a Garage: Cavity or No Cavity

Need some advice on whether to build my garage with/without cavity walls?
The main purpose of my garage will be storage i.e. Coal, garden tools, lawnmower, car.

Obvisously its going to be a lot cheaper to build without a cavity, but I'd like to know if I'd be wiser to go for cavity walls and why?
 
if you will never use it for anything other than storage / garage / fuel store then dont use a cavity.

if theres any chance you might need / want to convert in in the future to any kind of habitable space ie gym, den etc, then use a cavity.
 

Just finished mine and I put in a cavity. For one, I have a notion it is much stronger, secondly if the kids are playing table tennis etc in it it might be less cold/damp. Thirdly, I think single wall could allow damp which will ruin most things.

Just my opinion. Slim
 
Have no intentions of using it for anything else....just storage, so probably best to go without a cavity.

use a cavity.
You wont use any more blocks in doing so. In fact you'll use more because builders wont build a single cavity - flat block - over 8ft - for stability reasons - so it'll cost you more and you end up with less.

its safe to assume the OP is planning on building with 215 cavity blocks.

If not, he should.
