We were due to close on a new house before Christmas but due to pipe bursting and place flooding we were not able to. There was quite a lot of water damage and the builder is refusing to rectify a few of the items on our engineers report. Yesterday we were told that the builder is going to pull the sale of the house to us as we won't compromise. What happens in this instance? We have put about €2,000 into the house already tiles, shower doors etc. Also there are the valuation costs and snag report costs are we entitled to recoup those from the builder? And what happens with the 10% deposit we paid? Do we get this back and can we use it for another house?
