Broker Fee - can I keep it?

Hello All,

Apologies in advance if this is a daft question. We have just begun the process of taking out a mortgage for €380k. Currently deaing with an independant brooker who is advising EBS at a tracker rate of 3.8%. My question relates to the fee that the Brooker will get from EBS for processing our mortgage - is there any way we can deal direct with EBS and pocket the fee ourselves?!! Would we need to become a mortgage intermediary or is there some way round this?

Thanks,
Cathy

Re: Brooker Fee - can I keep it?

If you were a broker, you would get a fee. Brookers get nothing.

According to the [broken link removed], you must be borrowing in excess of €750K to qualify for the 3.8% Tracker LTV <=80% :

If you are indeed getting this rate on a loan of €380K, then your brooker[sic] is doing a fantastic job and deserves her/his reward.

If indeed you want a refund of the fee, why not go the REA route, and pay the broker directly for service.

I appreciate that this was an extremely cheeky question. Sincere apologies to Broker profession for calling then ‘Brookers’. Just wondered was all.
