Bord gais electricty and customer reading

I rang yesterday with a customer reading which is only 75% of the estimated reading.
Rang BG today and they can't commit to sending me a revised bill.

Do I have to pay for electricity I did not use? This seems to be the BG policy. It will be amended in the next bill.
Any one force them to send a new bill?

By the way, the 25% reduction is based on the new heating controls which mean we don't need the immersion heater on any more.
