Booking.com - anyone know anything about it?

I normally use www.booking.com when booking accommodation home or abroad.
The site sever seems to be down for about a week now.
Does anyone know what the story is? Are they gone out of business?

Also any specific recommendations for similar sites please.

It still won't open in Safari for me but I can get it in Firefox so at least I can get access.
