Blocking up kitchen window

We are getting the wall knocked between our kitchen and dining room which means we will have to move some of the kitchen units around. We currently have a window which is overlooked by next door and only looks into our side passageway so we keep the blind closed most of the time. This window will need to be blocked up in order to sucessfully re do the kitchen.

My question is: as the units will completely block this window is it a waste of time/money getting someone in to take out the window; brick it up; insulate the new bit of wall and plaster outside of it?? I was just thinking of having the kitchen units installed over the window area as it will only then be noticable from the side passageway.

Many thanks!

If you are getting someone to knock a wall it would not cost much extra to get the window taken out and blocked up properly. It's a very simple job.
