i have birds in my attic that are coming in through a whole at the side of the house. What's the best thing to do to get them out?

Is this a serious problem? Dont think I have them in the attic but they are certainly nesting in the corner of the attic under the guttering as I see them flying in and out. Do they cause damage or something?

No they aren't causing any hassle but I just don't want them there. I can hear them chirping when I'm upstairs. I'll see if they'll go on their own and then board it up. thanks

You probably should wait until the nesting season is over as there are probably eggs or baby birds in there:)

Under the Wildlife Act, you are not allowed interfere with nesting birds.

Wait until the end of the summer before boarding up the hole.

If they are a serious problem, which they don't seem to be, ask your local Wildlife Ranger what to do.

My son had that problem with starlings in the attic creating a racket every morning. Tried closing up the hole on the inside which was hard to get at but back they came eventually. He got a roofer to go up and he found the spot under the tiles where they were going in and blocked it up. Can you see from outside the spot where they are getting in? Yes at the moment they probably have young so wait till all the little ones are safely gone.

Yes there is a whole on the gable end of the house. Just under the apex of the roof. my neighbour saw them going in to it. God bless nosey neighbours! I'll leave them alone til they move on and then I'll get it sorted out. thanks
