BIK on Company Vehicle

Hi just wondering if any one can help me out here.

Do you still have to pay BIK on a car even if it is 7 years old. If so, surely it wouldnt be based on the original market value of the car.

someone i know has been offered a 2005 vehicle and just wondering should he push for the 2011 vehicle instead especially if BIK is roughly the same on both.

Would really appreciate any replies.

BIK is calculated on the new cost of the car, so if a 2011 car isn't avalable maybe a mileage allowance may suit, if the employer allows.
