Best place in Asia to celebrate New Year

Hopefully heading to Asia for the New Year Fly to Hong Kong on Stephens Day and then we wanted to head to Vietnam and then up to Thailand

However heard in HK 3-4 days is the max you would spend there so dont know were to fly to celebrate the New Year

Was thinking of going to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi but not sure

Any suggestions ?

honestly it's very hard to say but I spent one new year's on a beach in thailand and it was fantastic, a good group of people, some cocktails, feet in the water... (however I'd say any beach in asia would do the job)
