Anyone any recoommendations for good value Kitchen appliances

Hobs, Ovens, Extractors, Dishwashers etc

we got a good deal a couple of years ago at toss bryans in fermoy. don't know if/where they have other shops but they were nice to deal with and gave a great discount.

Do you mean actual appliance brands and models, or retailers?

If the latter, we recently got quite a few items from Dalzells in Markethill (Co. Armagh). For the package of appliances we'd put together, they came in 15-20% below any of Powercity, Harvey Norman or DID. We checked that they were charging VAT correctly, and that all warranties and service agreements would apply in the Republic, and everything was fine. They deliver free to Dublin, but I don't know about the rest of the Republic. I normally prefer to use local retailers where possible, but the price difference was just too substantial to justify it.

Standard disclaimer - satisfied customer only, no other connection.

When kitting out my kitchen a few years ago, did the rounds of the DID / harvey norman / powercity / expert, and found the models and prices I wanted, then asked each to quote for all. DID did a price match on the items that were more expensive than elsewhere...
OUr move in was delayed a few time, so we had to leave the stock with DID until the house was ready, and they delivered with a days notice.

Got an excellent deal in Briscoes in Drogheda... expert I think they are called as well. dealt with John.... asked for discount.
No affiliation.

Most retailers will give a discount if you're buying several appliances at the same time. I bought all of mine from Currys as they were the only ones that had all of the particular items I wanted, but I wouldn't recommend them as we had some problems. If I'd had a bit more cop on I would have asked some of the other shops if they could order the items I wanted that they didn't stock. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

By the way, DID in Drogheda were most helpful with a couple of items, and my mother has always had pleasant dealings with the same company in the Blanchardstown shopping centre.

Baize House in finglas are always worth a look. They deal in open box stock and the prices can be much much cheaper than other shops for the same kit. Have bought an induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer there and saved a bundle.

Cheers for all the info. Need a couple of items and there is a DID an power city close by with sales on. will pop up and ask about further discounts on bulk buys

Thanks

Just to add to take the sales with a pinch of salt. Even if things are discounted it's worth checking with the other suppliers as there are considerable differences between them. Most of the suppliers will match your best quote from elsewhere then. Its surprisingly difficult however, to get quotes in writing from the big suppliers - they do not like to make it easy for you to compare prices.
Oh and one more thing, (sorry I'm going on now but I've just been through it all...) unless you are already sure of what you want its worth signing up to Which? to see what's recommended. You can just ring the suppliers then with a model number.
