Best healthcare package?

In addition to VHI, we have a small policy with HSA Healthcare.
I was quite shocked as to how much you have to pay out for consultants fees under Plan B options before you can get any money reimbursed.
The HSA policy has really helped us out to partially make up the shortfall.

The Consultants fees also seem to be so exhorbitant now.
Your thoughts on this everyone, and what are the alternatives now to the VHI.

Have a look at http://www.hia.ie/ for a good starting place.

The 3 providers provide slightly different cover so it is not a straight-forward selection choice but the Health Insurance Authority site have a comparison report. After that you need to look at the cover by each and whether it meets your needs.

BUPA's High Court action against the Equalisation scheme is coming up soon, so you might need to keep an eye out for that - the have threatened to pull out of Ireland if they it doesn't go their way.
