Best DIY courses?

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good DIY evening course?

Am interested in any really: General, Plumbing, Woodwork, etc.

I know there are courses all over Dublin but I want to get a recomendation for a good one, a one where I get my hands dirty, not just sitting back looking at a teacher.

And I know there are nightcourse sites and books, but it's hard to tell which are good.

did a Fas woodwork one, not in Dublin but was good. As Fas are probably fairly standard nationwide then maybe check them out
 
Where books are concerned I can personally recommend the Collins Complete Woodworkers Manual, for a good general book on this subject, also their Collins Complete Plumbing and Central Heating is an excellent introduction to plumbing, thereafter consult an experienced trades person when in doubt, also the web is a fantastic resource.
 
Don't B&Q run DIY courses in their stores?? I remember hearing that ages ago, they certainly do one for women but I can't remember the details now.
