I have a one bed apt (approx 450sqft) that is currently being heated with ESB Goldshield.

Kitchen/Living : 1 Storage/Convection Heater combined
Hall : 1 Storage Heater
Bedroom : 1 Convection heater

I was considering installing an Panasonic Air-Air Heat pump such as the one shown at
http://heatpumps.scanhome.ie/

then removing the storage heaters.

I would appreciate some feedback
1) Is it worth the cost 2500? Can it be sources somewhere else for less money
2) Would this have major positive impact on a BER assessment
3) Has anyone done something similar and have the results been positive?

I'm not sure about the pricing but I know it will have a major positive effect on your BER.
Electic Heating is one of the least efficient heating systems when Entered into the BER software. The problem is that it factors in the Primary energy used.ie the total energy plus the energy used to deliver to your dwelling.

It certainly may be worth considering if you are selling or renting it out but if you are staying there for a few years it is a large outlay just to improve your rating.
