Behind on mortgage but need to cut work hours

Hi

I have 2 kids 3 & 1, both myself and husband work full time. My mother looks after kids for little or no money (she won't take any)

We've been struggling with money for a while now after my husbands job didn't pay him for a few months so we're now a good bit behind on mortgage. But with the two of us back at work we've been chipping away paying it back with all other bills, loans etc..
Thing is my mother is now showing signs that she is finding minding the kids a bit too much, she won't admit it but i'm worried about her health now.
If I was to get part time in work would we be entitled to any benefit or tax relief?
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

Might be an idea to start a thread in the money make over section.
Have you spoken to your lender in relation to the fall back in payments explaining that your husband was not paid for a number of months.
I take it your husband was in employment during the non paying months - was he back paid by the employer/company for the months missed or not.
Perhaps try to switch to interest only for a year to try get on top of things.
Perhaps look for a local childminder who mightn't break the bank.

Great, thanks a million for your help.
Will try this : )
