Be careful changing your ROS password

I changed my password back in April 2014.

When I tried to log onto ROS today, I got error messages.

I rang the ROS Helpline. Apparently I changed the location of the Digital Cert "to my browser" so it was in downloads, rather than in the ROS folder. ( I did not do this intentionally)

Then whenever I later cleared downloads, I deleted the ROS Cert.

I now have to apply for a new one which will take a few days.

I am in plenty of time, but if I was doing my returns on 13 November, I would miss the deadline.

OK, I have my new System Password

On the screen "Application for a Digitial Certificate" the default option is
"I want to download my certificate to a location on my pc"
There is a default directory

Confusingly, there is also a line
"I want to download my certificate to my browser"
There is no explanation of this.
If you tick this, your certificate will be only temporary and you will lose it the next time you clear your browser history.

This option should not be there or they should explain in what circumstances you might use it.
