Hi

In 2022 and 2023 I made a modest loss on the sale of my share grants. It’s about €1000 loss each year.

I ignored this in my tax return but perhaps that was a mistake - should I go in and update this - can I carry them forward?

Thanks

Yes, you can carry them forward

As you have not declared them, you can file a correction but it isn't necessary. When you use them at some time in the future, just make sure you have the necessary paperwork to justify the claim

Thank you, yes I have the paperwork saved. So if I do make a gain in 2024, I can then put these in?

Yes, and remember you have to use your losses carried forward before using the annual personal allowance of € 1,270
