Interested in this for a friend of mine but am sure its of interest to many others out there.

Anything with an atm Cashcard or Debit Card out there.

I know some Credit Unions had a couple of atm's.

Any savings type accounts with card facility available for instance.

Is KBC our only hope.

If your friend could keep a minimum balance of €500 in the account each month then this might be an option.

Yeah I had a look at that, but my friend lives literally from hand to mouth.

H used to have an EBS Instant Access account which was ok and would do him fine now again, and he got an atm card that could only be used in AIB machines but it was better than nothing and no fees.

This type of account is still available but I think the atm card is gone, seems like it anyway judging by this.

The EBS Instant Access Account is designed to enable accountholders to save whilst also allowing instant access to the savings at EBS offices.

clutching at straws:)

Ulster bank would be the best bet, they don't ask too many awkward questions.

They won't be free from July onwards unless €3,000 lodged per month so that would rule out the person mentioned above
