i work in a shop on a 20 hr weekly contract, however i always work a lot more hours than this in any given week, usually 35. When there is a bank holiday i get the day off and get paid 4hr pay for that day ie. 1/5 of my contracted hours. I was wondering if my employer is allowed to do this or should i be entitled to 1/5 of my average hours worked. ie 7hrs pay.
