bank fee for lodging cash

I've been told that if you lodge cash to a savings account (rather than current) you escape the bank fees on cash lodgement.

Can anyone verify or have experience of this? I'm with BOI if thats important..

All money grabbers. Bet thought the interest rate is minimal. Wanted volunteers to help me set up my own bank, sounds like the best way to make a fortune.
Different banks have different offers to get your money. My current a/c with BOI requires me keep €500 to avail of free banking.
Know there was some discussions about other offers elsewhere including Rabo on AAM

I'm referring to a business account, the costs of lodging cash can build up quite a lot....I think the free banking offer you mentioned is personal only

Could you lodge the cash to a business deposit account and then make electronic transfers to a current account?
