Back to college allowance

Hi,

I'm gettting voluntary redundancy in December. I started college last year part time and I'm currently in 2nd year. The course is only part time by the way. Can I apply for the back to college allowance next september even though I have already started th course? and can I work part-time and get this full payment.

Thanks in advance a confused mature student......
 
I'm almost certain any grant scheme's are only available to full-time students.

Unless you wanted to go back to college full time and applied for a course that would take credits from your part time course and you may have an option to go into 2nd year. Then you would be entitled to a full time mature student grant.

I guess with part-time course, an assumption is made that the person is in full-time employment and doesn't need to be supplemented financially.
