Back door window replacement

I had a burglary last night. The burglar(s) smashed the window in the back door but did not managed to get in fortunately. However, I need to replace the window in the back door. How much should I pay to replace the window? Its a normal back door with half window which is double glazed by the way. Thanks.

I'm not sure of the price, but if you have house insurance you should call up and enquire if they would cover this situation and pay for the replacement.

OK so i paid this glass-man £85 including fitting and will have to wait for a couple of days... i feel ripped off to be honest but i am a bad negotiator and i felt that the glass man was laughing all the way to his bank. is that fair to think that?

2 journeys to you

1 journey to the glazier to buy pay for the D/G unit.

Depending on the size it could cost €50 for the D/G unit by itself.

Not bad for €85.

Quick repair also stops the burglar coming back to his unfinished job. Sounds quite reasonable to me.

I would consider it very cheap as pointed out below his call out to measure etc and also that double glazed unit has to be toughened, thus the longer delay in having it fixed
