Babble.net is the latest craze.

Been playing with it tonight. Free landline and mobile calls (VOIP). I'm using broadband. Dunno if dial-up can handle it.

You can download the client/front-end from [broken link removed] as the Babble server is understandably choked. You still need to register however.

Read more over on boards.ie.

Remote user experiences echo but it doesn't impede the conversation. You need to register/subscribe to accept incoming calls.

Somebody on boards.ie says that it's basically (or actually?) the same as so people might want to be aware of of using such a system before plunging in.

I don't think there's a directory though. You need to know who you're calling before you call them - if you know what I mean. You maintain your own contacts so there's no notion of a distributed database to be maintained. I monitored connections in and out and didn't detect anything untoward.

"Tuxy"..?
Father D would never wear a Tux...?!
;)

Fair play to ya for the mirror, though!

Dr. M.

No. I just wear matador outfits occassionally :)

I didn't put the mirror up though. That was some nice chap on boards.

Ya, must be a very 'community-spirited' kinda guy!
