B&B or budget hotel near Liverpool airport?

A friend of mine is flying in to Liverpool with his sons for the West Ham match next weekend and is looking for inexpensive accomodation preferrably close to Liverpool airport. They're looking for something very basic for 5 people. Can anyone recommend a B & B?

Try www.matchhotels.com - I used this for a trip to Arsenal recently. Got a twin room with ensuite and breakfast was included for £47 sterling. Nothing spectacular but it was clean and secure.

There's a Holiday Inn Express right beside the airport I know that (though have never stayed there) .. it's probalby pretty cheap - don't know if they've got family rooms that would take 5 people though ?
