Avoca, Co. Wicklow

Hi

I am considering moving the family to Avoca. I work in the Dundrum area and i am used to the commute from naas. I have two kids under 3.

I am considering this area because of access to the coast and walking general outdoor life.

Any comments on the area in general for a young family would be appreciated. Are there good primary and secondary schools in the area (girls).

There is a small primary school (up near the Handweavers). It is a feeder school for St Mary's in Arklow, a girls secondary which has an excellent reputation. Avoca is a nice spot, but a bit too flooded with tourists for my liking. Have you considered Aughrim as an alternative? Much nicer imo.
