Last year I was paid €790 for my Nurses and Teachers plan with AVIVA.

This year it has risen by 18+% to €934.00.

I have already renewed it and am paying monthly by direct debit.

Assuming I can get out of the contract, what alternatives have I, if any?

I am 52 years old, self-employed.

I've had no claims for years.

Many thanks.

D.

You are allowed to join any plan that is available to any other person. They arent restricted to certain groups eg nurses and teachers.
Best bet though tedious is to trawl through the hia website using the compare plans option.www.hia.ie
I found the vhi pmi plans good, They have just reduced the cost of their pmi 28 12 plan Which i think would be cheaper after tax relief?

Thanks for this tip I am going to chance from VHI Teachers plan to this plan. Very similar level of cover but considerably cheaper. It also has day to day cover for GP visits,
