AVC v PRSA

Can anyone tell me the main differences between an AVC and a PRSA and why might one choose an AVC over a PRSA?

A PRSA is a pension scheme - usually for an individual.

An AVC is an extra contribution that an individual can make to an occupational pension scheme (usually their employer's group pension scheme).

You can use a PRSA for your AVC if you do not like the look of the employer's AVC arrangements.
