Heya

I moved from Ireland a couple of days ago. Today, I received a final Irish cheque in my name (a €20 refund from Smart Telecom).

I am no longer in Ireland and no longer have an Irish bank account. Is there some way I can authorize another payee? I had the cheque forwarded here to me, so I am able to write on it, sign it, ... in case any of that helps.

Endorse it by writing "To .............." on the reverse , sign and date it.

You can only do that if the cheque is not crossed "ac payee only", if it is crossed on the front in such a manner, you cannot endorse the cheque over to someone else, it has to be lodged into an account in your name

Ouch. The cheque says "A/C Payee Only" indeed.

Since I no longer have an Irish bank account, is there anything I can do, other than to just throw it away?
