I have an attic room which originally had 5 double sockets in it. A 6th double socket was added some years ago.
Today I found out that one of the original 5 sockets was not working and when I opened it up the blue wire seem was not connected to the socket itself. I need this socket working as its near a new lamp I am putting in over the bed. Anyway I connected it up and got it to work.
However after awhile I heard a sizzling sound from the sixth socket put in some years ago.
To cut a long story short, I now only have one socket working near this bed, and all other 5 are not working.
Is this an overload issue, short circuit etc?
If I can I prefer to get back to the 5 that were working, and solve the problem with an extension lead to this new lamp.
Appreciate any comments.
