Attic Access from an apartment

I live in a top floor apartment and when i enquired about access to the attic I was told that "The ownership of the attic is retained by the management company as there are comon structures, pipes etc and no access is permitted by residents". However when I did my snag list one of things checked was the attic as there is access from my hallway, and therefore I presumed I would have the right to use it for storage.

Does anyone know what my rights are?

Check your management agreement/lease. Should be in with the property deeds wherever they are (e.g. with lender if the property is mortgaged). Check with your solicitor.
