Astounding construction volume in Spain

I though we were building like crazy in Ireland but in Spain they have built an amazing 380,000 coastal properties in one year.

This article says that prices there are not sustainable.

But sure a few cold beers in the spanish sunshine and ye won't even care about how much yer holiday pad is worth..

Spain has 40m people. We built 80,000 last year for 4m people, if it were an astonishing 38000 we would have built as many as Spain pro rata ....except we built over twice that

except tonka that sunburnt said COASTAL and PROPERTIES. Many of these will be multi storey/apartment blocks. but at 80,000 can our prices keep rising. watched that program on ch4 tonight during half time in the game and the people doing the renovations on the 2nd house started off with a price tax of £425,000 but after the renovations, which cost £10,000 more than they estimated, their asking first asking price was £395,000 as they knew the market would not stand the first price, by the program's end they had come down another £5,000 but no takers. went back to the footie then.

Yes coastal properties/holiday apartments in Spain is not like for like with the 80,000 built here.

Don't see chartered planes arriving here full of Spanish speculators.
