As an Irish citizen I have been resident in Ireland all of my life but am moving to Canada in May 2006.

I have been paying PAYE on my earnings up to March and was wondering if I claim a tax rebate at the end of the tax year will my PAYE assessment be based on my tax credits from January to May or for the full 12 months even though I won't be in the country after May and will be paying income tax in Canada for the rest of the year?

Thanks for your help guys.

Yes, you will be entitled to full years allowance and bands (as long as you do not return to Ireland to work in 2006).

You need to complete Form P50 and submit this with your P45 when you cease employment. (P50 can be downloaded from www.revenue.ie).
