Article on payment protection insurance (PPI)

Just saw this on yahoo.co.uk Although it's written for a UK audience, I think a lot of it could be relevant to Irish borrowers. Some very emotive language, but also a number of suggestions on how to go about getting this type of insurance other than through PPI.

All I could see was the bit about shopping around, but it doesn't make any recommendations. Does anyone know where could you shop around for this in Ireland? An insurance broker?
