i have an aritech alarm and last night at 2 in the morning it started wailing outside even though it wasn't set!!after much panic i disconnected the battery but today it is still beeping constantly!having switched the power off at the mains it starts beeping in the house with tamper on the control box screen so we're stuck!!any assistance please greatly received as i dont fancy paying crazy sunday call out charges!!many thanks!
 
update..we have now disconnected the battery in the alarm box inside the house but now cant switch the fuse back on as the alarm goes off proper inside the house!so thats both batteries disconnected but no power in half the house!
 
Sounds like the battery in the main alarm box (not the outside bell) is dead? Easy to replace it, just make sure you buy the correct battery. They can be bought easily enough in a lot of electrical home stores.

Do you have any error messags on the control panel?
 
You should have had a warning light indication the internal battery needed to be replaced for quite some time before it would ever trigger the external bell. As Aristotle says, check the messages on the panel, and also, if you have the access code, go through the event log to see what occured at the time the bell was activated.

Oh, and please edit the title of your thread to make it more meaningful.

If it was ringing outside and there was no warning light or error message then the external bell is faulty, probably the tamper on the bell cover
