Interesting, Possibly means that this has been in the pipeline for a while and they havent been shipping some products to IrelandFlooded with unavailable and out of stock products.
Argos set to close all Irish outlets by June
The company employs around 580 people across 34 stores in Ireland.www.thejournal.ie
Plenty of retailers (including myself) lining up to take on the staff.A sad loss, nor least for the people who will lose their jobs!
Yes, yes it really was. Looking at all that schtuff that you couldn't have.I had an Aunt who went shopping regularly in Newry in the early 80s and brought back the Argos catalogue, It was so exotic.
There was a guy on UK telly who has collected all the cateloges. They are in some university.Yes sad to see but having said that I can't remember the last time that I was in Argos or on their website
But have fond memories of the yearly catalogue back in the eighties and nineties, it was my search engine pre Google
Yes but it was a window to another world……Yes, yes it really was. Looking at all that schtuff that you couldn't have.
Yes fond memories of the Argos catalogue, my kids used to write to Santa with catalogue numbers .End of an era... their catalogue in the run up to Christmas was much thumbed in my childhood.
Plus, their no quibble refund policy on most items was great. More common these days but not even they first started.I found the reserve & collect facility very handy in the last year or so; saved a lot of time & hassle traipsing round different shops.
Sorry to see it go.
