Anyone who has been registered for at least one month and who has at least 10 posts should be able to post links in any forum.

Markel reported in another post that he could not post a link in a thread in this forum.

Could a few of you please respond to this thread and try to post links.

I want to see if it's the user group or the forum is the problem.

Thanks

Brendan

In general, if you have a problem posting links, please reply to this thread.
Is it just some forums that you can't post links or
Is it that you can't post links in any forum?

Tried posting a link to independent news site and I get the error below.

That is very interesting. You can post some links but not others.

Could you try posting the independent link again but leave some spaces in it to deactivate it e.g.

[broken link removed] ependent.ie/news/

All attempts were from my android mobile and I copy and pasted URLs each time.

The independent link that worked was the home page. The one that failed was a link to a particular story I was reading at the time but can't recall which one. Perhaps there was some keyword in your site web content filter that it didn't like.

Will try a link to a story now.

Thanks folks.

Got to the bottom of it.

I had set up a spam filter for Chinese characters so that anyone post containing these would be blocked.

But the filter also contained the format https/www so I must have pasted that in by accident.
