Are they obliged to issue direct debit statement????

Hi folks,quick question,i have a direct debit with my county council to pay off the levy charge of 6800e on my new build,i pay 80e per month and have done so for just less than 2 years but to date have not had any paperwork from the county council to say how much i've paid or how much i've left to pay. IS THIS LEGAL ???? thanks
 
Write and ask them for the outstanding balance of your account with the them.
 
hi kev,yeah i will write to them ,i just want some information on it before i do anything
